A journey through the Bible to nurture your family's faith
On October 2nd after the 11am worship, I will host a hybrid meeting for my book, The Bible in 52 Weeks for Families*. This will be an information session on how to gather with others to read the Bible in a year.
This book features a yearlong reading plan designed to guide your family through the entire Bible—a few verses at a time. With weekly commentaries, discussion questions, and activities, it will spark exciting conversations and inspire every family member to apply God's teachings to their own life.
* I use an expansive and elastic definition of families. I believe families come in all sizes and shapes and shades reflective of God’s love of relationships. I have heard some at church tell me how they are gathering with siblings, neighbors, and others to engage in this study.
In keeping with our Green Covenant and the UCC Women’s theme this year,” God Caring for Creation,” our speaker from Selby Gardens, Wendy Deming, COO, will give us an historical review of how Marie Selby came to choose her location for her home and to develop the gardens with Florida-friendly plantings. Wendy will highlight what plants we can choose that do well in this climate, such as those not requiring a lot of water. All are welcome. Luncheon is $12. Please sign up after Sunday worship or call the church office.
Each week we gather for a holy dialogue on issues related to the realities of racism in our country, community and church. We are blessed as a congregation with members (White, African-American, men, women, all sexual orientations) who are committed to the on-going work for justice. During our weekly gatherings, we raise awareness around issues, build trusting relationships, and commit to loving action. There is always space at the table for you to join us for this sacred conversation.
Contact Pastor Wes for more information and for the Zoom link.
We gather for a time of prayer INSIDE (due to the humidity) the Oasis Center. Join us as we drum together, letting the movement of our hands and hearts be a prayer to God. All levels of experience welcome for this opportunity. Greg will provide instruction and together we will make a joyful noise to God. If you have questions, please contact the church office for more information.
Starting on Sunday, March 13, COLLAGE will have a luncheon meeting on the second Sundays of each month in the Oasis Center immediately following the 11 o'clock service. We will have a free box lunch, so please RSVP to Sara Little below in order to know how many lunches to order. Please indicate if you have food allergies. We will try to accommodate them.
Donations are welcome to offset next month's lunch costs.
