Donations for All Faiths Food Bank

The Narthex 1031 S. Euclid Ave., Sarasota, United States

Food Pantry Sunday ~ As we are fed at Christ’s table, so we seek to feed others. This Sunday will be the collection of non-perishable foods for All Faiths Food Bank. The rule of thumb for donating is, “if you would enjoy have it, they would appreciate haint it.” Please be sure everything has an expiration date of mid 2025 or later. There will be a basket in the narthex labeled ALL FAITHS FOOD BANK. Please place your items in the basket or next to it if the basket is full. If you have any questions, please contact Ellen Marsey, co-chair of the Food and Hunger Group.

Women’s Association Luncheon

Syster Hall 1031 S. Euclid Ave., Sarasota, FL, United States

Please join the UCC Women’s Association for their monthly lunch and program on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 11:30 am in Fellowship Hall. We will hear from Lt. Col. Matthews about the Sarasota branch of the Salvation Army. She will explain the many life-changing programs of the Salvation Army of Sarasota County and how we can help.

Our church boasts four individuals who serve on the Board of Advisors: Warren Bacon, Dale Woodling, Deborah Hayes, and Lynn Jones, all of whom will be on hand to share their experiences.

Luncheon costs $12. Sign up after either Sunday service or call the church office at 941-953-7044.

For Baby Basics of Sarasota County, please bring new or gently used baby books for ages birth to three.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Group

Calling all knitters and crocheters! The next gathering of the Prayer Shawl Ministry Group will be on Wednesday, February 21st, from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at Lindsey Huddleston’s home.

Monthly Community Meal

St. Paul's Fellowship Hall 2256 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota, FL, United States

The monthly community meal that we continue to provide at St. Paul Lutheran Church feeds those who are hungry and in need of fellowship. Our guests are treated to a Sandy Smith home cooked meal. The home-baked items provided by our church family add a sweet treat that is heartily enjoyed.  Our mission is to feed the hungry and offer fellowship to our guests.  Please volunteer for on-site set-up/serving/clean-up functions at St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall. We will be providing a favorite—strawberry shortcake. Please contact Carol Hagglund for details.

All women and men of the church are welcome and encouraged to join us on the first Tuesday of each month, October through May, in Syster Hall for fellowship, lunch and program. Programs are on varied topics. We select various non profits to come and share with us what they are about.  An annual favorite is the December meeting where we fill and wrap shoeboxes for seniors. 

We hope you can join us and make some new friends.

Brady Sarasota Season Wrap-Up

Sgt. Robert Morrison with the Sarasota Police Department’s Community Action Team will speak at Brady Sarasota's April 11 season wrap up. This team is tasked with addressing what Sgt. Morrison describes as quality-of-life concerns, in particular, the city’s Operation Armistice program, an anti-gun violence initiative.

The meeting will be held in our Oasis Room, at 4 pm and is free and open to all. We will also have postcards on hand to send to members of Congress, urging them to support sensible gun laws.

Community Meal

Our mission is to feed the hungry and offer fellowship to our guests.  Please volunteer with preparing our take-out meals while renovations are ongoing at St. Paul’s. We will be providing desert cookies this month—homemade would be extra special. We need your cookies no later than 4 p.m. Please join us on April 22nd from 4-6:30 p.m. to assemble the meals. Thank you for all you do for those in need.
