Stop Gun Violence – Wear Orange Day

May 29

Brady Campaign logo, United Against Gun Violence

For several years, activists in the gun violence prevention movement have encouraged people to wear orange each June to remember those who have died, honor the survivors and demand a future free from a pandemic that kills more than 45,000 people a year in this country. Our church council voted to make May 29 Wear Orange Day in anticipation and invites us to wear orange that Sunday, in addition to June 3 and any day in June that we can. We will be joining people around the country who want to put a spotlight on the homicides, suicides and unintentional shootings that make our country stand out, sadly, among developed nations.

There is much disagreement nowadays about many issues, but we should all be able to agree that we and our children and our children’s children deserve a life free from violence.

Let’s fill the church with orange, the color of safety, on May 29th!
