Newtown Action Alliance is an all-volunteer grassroots organization formed after the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 12, 2014. Newtown Action Alliance works to bring about legislative and cultural changes that will reduce gun violence, a public health crisis in our country. We are working to keep our children and families safe. Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (formally knows as the Newtown Foundation) is the 501c3 tax exempt organization formed to help our community heal and be remembered as the place where positive cultural changes began. Led by the same people who lead the Newtown Action Alliance, Newtown Action Alliance Foundation is focused on educational, healing and cultural programs; helping teens to channel their fears and frustrations into positive activities and to provide opportunities for them to network with other teens in cities and other communities; and victim and community outreach, near and far.
Po is the mother of 4 children and was a neighbor of the Sandy Hook School shooter in Newtown, Connecticut. She will tell us about all of the work this amazing organization has been doing the last 10 years and their plans for the next 10 years to try to keep our communities safe.
