Sanctuary Enhancement Update

The old tile is going…going…gone this week. 

On Monday, crews from Complete Hearing Solution were in the sanctuary cutting and laying new wiring for our t-loop system. 

One of the major benefits of this enhancement project will be a new t-loop system utilizing the latest technology.  

You can see the two lines in floor in the photo on the right that will hold the new wiring for the t-loop!

Tile is set to arrive this week too and installation will begin soon.

8:45 am ~ in the chapel ~ Pastor Wes will preach on Philippians 2:1-12, an early Christian hymn and we will join our voices together in singing/praying our praise to God.

11 a.m. ~ in Syster Hall and online ~ Pastor Wes will preach on Philippians 2:1-12 as we sing our prayers and praise to God. Our amazing Chancel Choir will sing two anthems, “I Will Sing with the Spirit” by John Rutter and “Sing Forth Rejoice” as we come to the communion table. 

For our online viewers, we encourage you to stream on YouTube directly.  YouTube offers a GREAT experience for participating in the service.  You are welcome to continue to watch on Facebook right now.  Please note that our website is taking the feed from YouTube, so going directly to the platform will help.
 

We welcome Heidie Heath as our Financial Clerk. 

Heidie has been working for the last few weeks and is doing a fantastic job. Heidie Heath moved to Bradenton 7 years ago. She and her husband, Glen, of 46 years have lived in nine states and have four grown sons. Bradenton is now their home.  Welcome, Heidie!! If you have questions about your intention of giving/pledge, please contact the church office.

Pastor Wes will be on vacation, August 7-13th.  On Sunday, August 13, we welcome Dr. Christine Hoffman to lead/preach at both the 8:45 am and 11 am worship services.  Pastor Wes will return to the office on August 14th.  

Please pray for Jane Delgado-Semidei whose husband, Joe passed away.

Please pray for family of Gail Johnson who passed away.  Services for Gail are planned for August 19 at 10 am in the chapel.

Millie Small on hospice care. 

Prayers for Dick Sparrow, Kitty Miller, Jon Metzger, Bill Brackett, Melissa Hill, Michael Carone, John Hilficker, Helaine Eckstein,  Dr. Robert Bryant, Blaine Pool, Roger Weiss, Connie Toops, Connie Schaefer, Carole Patterson, and Mary Lou Starcher who all continue to recover. 

I’m excited to let you know that I will be the Artist in Residence at Art Ovation Hotel at 1255 N. Palm Ave in Sarasota from August 15 -21.  I’ll be in the Art Ovation Lobby Studio from 4PM to 8PM daily with a Public Reception on Friday, August 18 from 5PM to 7PM.  I’m calling this exhibit “Portraits from a Stolen Past,” and will feature oil paintings and oil collage works based on vintage portraits.  

I’ve always loved vintage portraits of same sex couples and have collected them for years.  Whether you perceive them as friends or partners, in many of them you can feel a melancholy as well as an excitement for sharing their friendship or relationship in a photo.  I love bringing these portraits to life with color and enhancing the positive elements off each image.
 

We are so thankful for the folks who have signed up to be on the church’s year-round Family Promise list of volunteers, but we can always use more people.  Perhaps you missed that signup opportunity and would like to have your name added to the list.  Or perhaps you would like to volunteer for a specific need.  If so, please contact Ellen Marsey or Dotty Reed and they will be glad to and you to the year-round list and/or send you a current list of specific volunteer opportunities.

This Thursday, August 10 is the first day of school.  The Mission Team invites members and friends of the church who are available to show up on Thursday from 7:30 – 8:30 am to “cheer the kids” as they arrive for their first day of school!  You can bring pompoms or posters or just your presence!

Sacred Conversations on Race will resume on August 9th at 3 pm
