Two Services this Sunday 🎶🙏

Sanctuary Enhancement Update

This week, construct crews were here to pull up the old tile and prepare the floor for the new tile.  The crew worked very hard and did a fantastic job.  We continue to be grateful to Bud Rives for his leadership on this project.  As you know with construction, there are always unforeseen issues.  Bud continues to manage this project with thoughtfulness and care.  Next Monday, July 31, Complete Hearing Solutions will be here to lay the new t-loop wire.  This should greatly improve those who have the t-loop on their hearing aid as the wire will be placed throughout the sanctuary.

With God’s love ~ Wes

 TWO Services this Sunday ~

Please note for 11 am: because the chairs are not bolted to the floor (like the pews), we are encouraging you to stand in body OR Spirit.  There is a row of chairs with arms to assist those who need help standing or you are welcome to sit at one of the round tables.  Please continue to use care when standing or sitting down in Syster Hall, the chairs do slide.

11 a.m. ~ in Syster Hall and online ~ Pastor Wes will preach on Ephesians 4, finding our grounding in Christ. Our amazing Chancel Choir will sing.

For our online viewers, we encourage you to stream on YouTube directly.  YouTube offers a GREAT experience for participating in the service.  You are welcome to continue to watch on Facebook right now.  Please note that our website is taking the feed from YouTube, so going directly to the platform will help.

During my senior year in high school, I tried out for a role in the play, Our Town.  I was cast in the role of Stage Manager.  I can still remember the rehearsals, trying to memorize my lines and being fitted for a costume.  I was so nervous on opening night that I forgot some of my lines.

This summer marks 30 years since that moment and I thought it would be fun to gather a reader’s theater and discussion of Thornton Wilder’s play.  Please join me on Tuesday, August 1 at 2 pm in the Oasis Center (note location!) and on Zoom.  We will read aloud the play and discuss how Wilder’s words connect to our life.

Please order a copy of the play for yourself wherever you purchase books and come ready to read portions and discuss the themes of this play.  Please call or email Pastor Wes if you plan to attend this fun and faith-filled experience.

Family Promise
Francis House Volunteer Opportunities

We are so thankful for the folks who have signed up to be on the church’s year-round Family Promise list of volunteers, but we can always use more people.  Perhaps you missed that signup opportunity and would like to have your name added to the list.  Or perhaps you would like to volunteer for a specific need.  If so, please contact Ellen Marsey or Dotty Reed and they will be glad to and you to the year-round list and/or send you a current list of specific volunteer opportunities.

Pastor Wes will be on vacation, August 7-13th.  On Sunday, August 13, we welcome Dr. Christian Hoffman to lead/preach at both the 8:45 am and 11 am worship services.  Pastor Wes will return to the office on August 14th.
